Merry Meet and Hail!
One of the things that always comes up in any kind of group is how do we tell our parents that we are no longer Christian or even a non-believer. I think that, no matter the religion, it can be a challenge. When you're a teen, and have discovered your religion, that telling your parents can be hard. If you call yourself an Astaruer then you may have practice by yourself and your not ready to tell. If your a Heathen then most will say don't tell if you know that your parents might throw you out of the house or even decide that they no longer want to talk to you.
One of the things that we must do is use Odin's wisdom to figure things out, to figure out what is the best course of action. I never had to worry about telling my mother that I'm a Astaruer because she figured it out on her own. I didn't have to lie to her, because she knew the truth. If she told me, even though I'm an adult, that I couldn't practice it inside her house then I would go outside, find a piece of land, and give my offerings. I would obey my mother's rules.
Deciding to tell your parents that your a Astaruer or a Heathen is a personal thing. It's your choice and not something that you should take lightly. Have faith in both yourself and the gods. And things will work out well.
Blessed Be!
